Data-driven Testing

Data-driven testing is creation of test scripts where test data and/or output values are read from data files instead of using the same hard-coded values each time the test runs. Data-driven testing means running the same automated test with different set of input data, to ensure that the application under test works as expected for various input values.

Maveryx allows you to drive tests with input and expected values from an external data source instead of using the same hard-coded values each time the test runs.

Using Maveryx you can easily pick up data from external sources such as Excel spreadsheets, CSV and XML files to create sophisticated data-driven test suites. You can also create customized data sets from any database including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Microsoft Access or custom sources, such as INI, TXT, HTML files and others.

If you want to quickly generate new test data you can use the Maveryx integrated data generator. Simply provide the data format and Maveryx will automatically generate for you valid, boundary and invalid test data.

Maveryx data-driven testing functionality promotes script reuse, better use of resources, and simplifies script maintenance by keeping all input data and expected results for your automated tests in one place.

Last but not least, using the data-driven testing feature of Maveryx, you can expand your automated test coverage.
